先日紹介した宮本常一さんの『民俗学の旅』にあった、こんな一文を思い出しました。

大道芸の面白さは舞台を持たないことである。観客は輪になって囲む。芸人には裏も表もない。自分のすべての姿を見せる。見る方も輪になることで仲間意識を持つ。考えてみると、私の幼少の頃までは、人が集まると輪になることが多かった。輪になって話しあったのである。すると余程無口な者でないかぎり発言した。
